it's an idea that flies around the concept of the Hermaphroditus creature from the ancient Greek mythology. Now days when you find Greek sculptures out of a museum they look decontextualized and out of place. So that's the idea to make it look kitsch.
I hope to finish it, I'm starting to texture it... let see if I'm gonna finish this...

I really love this, it's original and the model is really androgynous and looking like and ancient greek statue (in good state though)
Still I wonder what are the little dots near the lips, it looks like stitches just have been removed...
What did you base you off for the genitals? It reminds me of a metoidioplasty surgery outcome.

thx a lot I'm glad you understood the concept so well. I was working on some kind of piercings around the face so I choose not to make them to visible by having them small and spherical. Those dots that you see are the piercings. About the genitals yes I used some metoidioplasty surgery reference, I read about real hermaphroditus people and hormone treatments that transsexuals do in order to shrink their male attributes.

I see, I assume it would have perfectly they were piercing clear with a specular :)
It's great you used such references. May I ask if you're connected to intersex or trans people in any way? I'm just curious since it's rare to see people doing such work without being somehow personally involved in the matter. I guess the fact I'm trans myself had something to do in the fact this piece particuliarly caught my attention.

cool, yeah unfortunately I didn't finish it yet... I wanted to have a nice colorful render, kind of east-indian type of art. I'm not personally involved in the matter, I was mostly exploring this concept in art trying to capture both male and female beauty on the same body. I was interested in seeing in this kind of mix of genders, what kind of beauty was more transparent or immediately visible and what was the effect it could have on people watching it. So you're attention is very very welcome!

that would be colorful for sure, but an interesting mix as well!
I see, it's great then to see your point of view, as someone exterior to the matter if I can say so. Usually for trans people, only MTF seem to exist and are rather seen as exotic creatures to have sex with, and for intersex people, they seem to be mostly limited to the debate about should they be operated at birth or not to stick them to male or female. It's nice to see someone thinking about aesthetics and art, to me, as trans, it's like a first step to recognition in Arts by "normal" people.
Also the "classic" style you used is fantatic, it brings normality back to this "abnormal" population. It's what lacks so much in trans-made Art...
